A dense sentence or an unfamiliar term often sends you to a translator or a dictionary, and the explanation never joins your notes. Select it and translate, explain, or look the word up. You remain on the page.

Put the figure in the note, and keep a way back.
Paper charts, textbook diagrams, and formulas turn into blurry crops, and a region that crosses a page has to be stitched by hand. Take the embedded image, or frame a region that stitches across the gap, and keep a citation that opens the page. Copying into a note also drops the PDF’s soft line breaks. Long files still have an outline, thumbnails, and in-document search. Grayscale pages can follow a dark vault theme.
